What is IdentityCheck? KYC and AML compliance inside your practice tools

IdentityCheck verifies client identity, screens for AML risk, and keeps an audit trail, all from inside Xero, HubSpot, Karbon and the tools your firm already uses.

What is IdentityCheck?

Overview. IdentityCheck is StackGo's KYC and AML compliance platform for accounting, legal and other regulated firms. It lets you verify a client's identity, screen them against sanctions and adverse-media lists, assess and monitor their money-laundering risk, and keep an auditable record, all from inside the systems your firm already uses. It helps firms meet rising customer-verification and AML obligations as online fraud and regulation tighten across industries worldwide, with Australia's Tranche 2 reforms a leading example.

Why it exists

Online identity fraud is rising, and regulators worldwide are tightening the rules on who businesses must verify and monitor. Australia's Tranche 2 reforms are a leading example.

From 1 July 2026, Australia's anti-money-laundering rules were extended to around 90,000 new businesses: accountants, lawyers, conveyancers, real estate professionals, and dealers in precious metals and stones. These "Tranche 2" firms must now identify and verify their customers, assess and monitor money-laundering risk, and keep records. IdentityCheck is built to help them do exactly that. (See Tranche 2 AML reforms explained for the verified dates and obligations.)

What the platform does

In one line: verify who your clients are, understand their AML risk, keep watching for changes, and prove you did it, without leaving Xero, HubSpot, Karbon or your other tools.

  • Verify identity. The client photographs a government ID and takes a selfie; the platform confirms the document is genuine and matches the face, and returns a clear decision.
  • Start checks the way your firm works. Send checks one at a time or in bulk, publish a self-serve link clients use themselves, or trigger a check straight from your practice or CRM system.
  • Screen against sanctions, PEPs and adverse media. Automatic screening on every passed verification, with results on your dashboard, in the report, and written back to your system.
  • Run AML risk assessments. A guided flow produces a defensible high, medium or low rating for each customer.
  • Escalate and re-review. High-risk customers are automatically escalated to Enhanced Due Diligence, and periodic reviews run on a cadence you set.
  • Keep watching. Continuous AML monitoring of onboarded customers, with alerts and an audit trail.
  • Add extra checks. US criminal record checks, AI-assisted proof-of-address, and strong Tax File Number protection.
  • Connect to your systems and run it securely. Two-way integrations, role-based team permissions, two-factor authentication and a full audit trail.

Who it is for

Accounting, bookkeeping and legal practices that need to meet AML/KYC obligations, especially the roughly 90,000 firms brought into scope by Tranche 2. It suits both firms onboarding brand-new clients and firms re-verifying an existing client base.

What IdentityCheck does not do

To be clear about the boundary: IdentityCheck does not lodge suspicious matter or threshold transaction reports, write your AML/CTF program document, appoint your compliance officer, or enrol you with AUSTRAC. Those obligations remain with your firm. IdentityCheck helps you meet the customer-due-diligence, monitoring and record-keeping parts, and gives you the evidence trail to show you did.

If you need help with the parts we do not cover, contact us and we can refer you to trusted partners who assist with AML/CTF programs, reporting and compliance-officer support.
