When is a verification charged?

In plain terms: a verification is charged when you send it, a resubmission on the same link is not a new charge, and a fresh check after a decline counts as a new verification. See the pricing page for plan detail.

When is a verification charged?

Overview. This is a plain-English answer to a common question. For full pricing and your plan's inclusions, see the pricing page.

A verification is charged when you send it. That means a check counts whether or not the client goes on to complete it, so an incomplete or unfinished check is still a verification you have used.

A Resubmission is not a new charge. When a client is asked to redo a step and continues on the same link, that is the same verification being completed, not a new one.

Sending a fresh check is a new verification. If a check comes back Negative and you send the client a new request, or a completed verification has expired and you start again, that new check is charged as a verification in its own right.

If you are unsure how this maps to your plan or your remaining balance, the pricing page has the detail, and you can always raise a support request.

Frequently asked

If a check comes back Negative and I resend, is that charged again? Yes. Sending a fresh verification is a new check and is charged as one. A Resubmission, where the client redoes a step on the same link, is not a new charge.

Am I charged if the client never completes the check? A verification is charged when you send it, so a check counts whether or not the client finishes it. Nudging a client with a reminder to complete the check they already have does not add a charge.
